Happy Saturday. Our team is still working diligently on the . We are so excited and grateful about the love and support we have gotten over the past few months. Our indiegogo campaign was a great success, however, we are still fundraising in order to bring you the world class exhibition that both Mr. Neals and the world deserves.
On February 28, 2015 we will mount an art auction at Gallery 113 in the Crown Heights Youth Collective in Brooklyn, NY. Our team would like as many artists as we know to DONATE an ORIGINAL piece of art to this historic event. Our plan is to begin the auction on-line at least two weeks earlier so that our friends around the world will have access to the work in order to start the bidding prior to the gallery exhibition.
If you are interested in participating, please email me at [email protected] with your name and phone number and an image of the work, immediately. We will get back to you with further details within 24 hours. I am posting an image of one of my donations to the auction. It is one of my lino-cuts that Mr. Neals and I hand pulled together.

Happy Birthday Master Otto Neals!!!
When I teach Art History, in particular the Benin Punitive Expedition, I always teach about the Lost Wax Process that was developed first in ancient Africa.
What a pleasure it was to see the process done first hand when I was invited to visit the foundry with Mr. Neals. Pictured is the Master working on a bronze sculpture of Malcolm X that had just been fired. Yes, it will be in the . The oxidization process is taking place right before my eyes.
I am honored to walk this journey with you Mr. Neals!

What a great day it has been. surpassed the indiegogo campaign goal! Yeah!!!! Thanks to all of your support; we are one step closer to a well deserved .

We are truly grateful for this generous contribution, however, it is a portion of the total cost of this project. For those of you who wanted to donate, there is still time. Happy Sunday Everyone!
I have been reflecting about the course that the indiegogo campaign has taken over the past month. What a wonderful learning journey it has been for me. I am so grateful to all of you who have shared the link, clicked like on the posts, made donations and just sent great vibes. I can see the finish line of the first leg of this wonderful race. We are approaching our final day of the campaign. Please continue to pass the baton like you have been doing. We need less that $300 to reach our goal!

Greetings Everyone,
I will be emailing information about the two Cuba trips that I will lead in January and June of 2015. Both trips have limited space, folks have started reserving already. So reserve your spot early.
The image below was taken at Hamel's Alley; one of the most visited spaces in Habana. I loved being in that community. Kind of meditative, yet stimulating all at the same time (maybe because I could feel the presence of the Orisha) .:-)

Happy Monday Everyone! New York City schools begin their Spring Break today. Please help all of the family heads and/or caretakers find something to do with the children by posting creative ideas.

I went to see the WITNESS exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. It is a perfect outing for children because in addition to looking at it through the eyes of the Civil Rights Movement, one can look at it in so many other ways including the Artists, size of the images, the different mediums, the relationship between the music playing and the art, the video etc..... There is a timeline once leaving the exhibition area that takes you through the Civil Rights Movement.
