DEFA-Dora Espinoza Fine Art Created in 1988, DEFA is a private art dealership based in Manhattan, we specializes in contemporary art.

DEFA proudly serves as a showcase the most important Latin-American Contemporary Artists, also highlights some of the most important artists from Peru, recognized sculptors and painters whose works express the influence of pre-Columbian Culture. Starting off by representing a handful of Contemporary artists from Peru, DEFA now proudly serves as a showcase for some of the country's most important a

rtists. DEFA represents the combined energies from Latin-America Contemporary Art and New York Contemporary Art. Our ultimate intention is to donate part of our collection to institutions dedicated to the study and research of Latin-American Contemporary Art. Dora Espinoza is the founder of DEFA, she was part of the art movement in the early 90's in the East Village in New York. To date, DEFA, operates mostly on line, the collection reflects the many approaches and various media commonly recognized as expressions of a given culture since the birth of the modern era, and thereby includes paintings, sculptures, prints, photography, mixed-media and much more.

En 1987, el gobierno mexicano encargó al artista peruano Víctor Delfín la creación de un retrato del poeta César Vallejo para conmemorar el 50º aniversario de su muerte. El retrato fue concebido para aparecer en un sello postal mexicano, emitido en 1988. Esta obra que fué ejecutada por Víctor Delfín, ejemplifica la maestría en el manejo del color y su estilo artístico distintivo. No solo captura la esencia y el espíritu de Vallejo, sino que también se erige como un testimonio de la cultura y el arte latinoamericano. Delfín basa su creación en un dibujo del artista peruano Alejandro Gonzales “Apurímac”.
