Art on boarded-up Soho storefronts have been garnering attention since local artists started the movement on June 7.
A documentary film director, gallery owners, and well-known artists were called on to found and participate in .social.impact. They ask for permission from the store owners so that the allocated artists can make a statement with their art on the plywood walls. They worked side by side on Greene street all day on June 16th, before moving to the Wooster st. the next week. The artists will be notified when the stores reopen so they can collect the art they created. They are also in talks to bring the movement to the 14th st. as wells as Harlem.
