June 8, 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of Dmitry Mikhailovich Krasnopevtsev’s birth - one of the great Russian artists of the second part of 20th Century.
I will show a few photos taken during my trip to Moscow in 1993.
In beginning of 1990s. I visited Moscow a few times. During one of my trips Dmitry Krasnopevtsev invited me to his apartment/studio in Moscow.
I was fortunate to meet the artist and see his studio – one room, with a window closed with a piece of white canvas, in modest 2-bedroom apartment where he lived with his wife Lidia.
In his studio Dmitry created his own unique little world, where he was surrounded by his favorite objects, books, shells, stones, paintings, icons, and many other things. Of course, there were his wonderful paintings hanging on walls, in hallway, living room, all spaces on all walls.
