It’s already the final week to see “Thresholds,” Drea Cofield’s solo exhibition. We’ll be sad to see it come down🥲

Later this week on Thursday, April 30th @ 4:30pm, the gallery is hosting an artist talk between Drea Cofield and Josephine Halvorson, which will delve into the specifics of this body of work. Space is extremely limited, so ensure to RSVP using the link in our bio to save yourself a seat.

The last day to see “Thresholds” will be Saturday, May 2nd. Don’t miss it!!!!! or else !!!!

“When I translate these selfies into painted portraits, I am keenly aware of the history embedded in the medium. The selfie, with its instant dissemination and disposable nature, stands in contrast to the permanence of painting, which demands time, both from the artist and the viewer. In painting these images, I’m not simply replicating the allure of the selfie; I’m interrogating the very act of looking, of desiring, and of being seen.”

Happy Birthday to Drea Cofield, our current exhibiting artist. The best way to wish her well is by coming by the gallery to see her solo exhibition, “Thresholds,” on view through May 2, 2026 (or by sending her Martini Money💸🍸).

It’s already been two years since her previous and debut solo exhibition at the gallery, “Infinite Nude,” and the work in her current show reflects significant growth— quite literally in scale 🙂‍↕️ Compositionally, the paintings in “Thresholds,” are an introspective departure from her n**e selfie project, which is on its fourteenth year !! Congratulations Drea! Hope you have an excellent day!🥳🪞♈️🍾

The Kravets Wehby Gallery is pleased to present “Thresholds,” a new exhibition of paintings by Drea Cofield, marking a significant evolution in the artist’s practice. Departing from her widely recognized n**e selfie project, Cofield’s latest body of work embraces her affinity for plein air painting, shifting her focus outward into lived environments. These new paintings remain deeply rooted in figuration but expand to include the interplay between the human form and its surrounding architecture and landscape.

We are ecstatic to be showing a painting by Chico da Silva, many thanks to in our current exhibition, “The Full Picture,”

Chico da Silva’s depictions of mythological creatures are impressively decorated from head to tail. In good company between Asad Faulwell’s use of pins and pearls, and Hannah Lupton Reinhard’s orderly Swarovski crystals, this exhibition is certainly for those who lean in for a closer look🔍
