Greetings from Asia Society HQ in NYC! Leo says congrats to the New York Knicks! 🏀🧡💙

Since the 1960s, the leogryph has been Asia Society's symbol and a core part of our visual identity. A hybrid of the lion and the mythical griffin, leogryphs are believed to guard temples and protect those seeking enlightenment from evil forces.

Asia Society is pleased to announce the winner of the 2026 Osborn Elliott Prize for Excellence in Journalism on Asia 🎉

Congratulations to Vivian Wang of The New York Times for a series of deeply reported stories exploring the paradox of life in contemporary China, and the challenges ordinary people in their daily lives face in a society powered by technology and driven by nationalist ambition.

The $10,000 cash prize is awarded annually by an independent jury to the best example of journalism about Asia during the previous calendar year.

The jury also recognized:

🔹Reuters for the excellence of its reporting on the geopolitical contest for rare-earth minerals in a remote region of Myanmar.
🔹The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and the Earth Journalism Network in a new special citation for journalistic innovation, honoring the two organizations for producing high-impact, original journalism on critical topics by tethering together newsrooms and reporters across the world.
