On June 10, Asia Society and Hanuman Editions present a conversation between the poet and translator Vivek Narayanan and the writer and translator Anton Hur on translation and its practices in world literature.

Both authors have contributed to the press’ publication of new writings from the international vanguard: Hur in the form of a modern Korean ghost story (Bora Chung's Grocery List) and Narayanan with a lyrical interpretation of classical Tamil literature (Vivek Narayanan’s The Kuruntokai and Its Mirror).

Renowned composer Tan Dun takes us behind "Incarnations," three musical works inspired by transformation and music's underlying universality.

Incarnations was a special Viewpoints program performed at Asia Society New York, celebrating Asia Society's 70th anniversary. We teamed up with HBO Documentary Films for a special screening of “The A List: 15 Stories from Asian and Pacific Diasporas.”

The screening was followed by a moderated discussion led by Richard Lui with Director Eugene Yi, Executive Producer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, Producer Jada Yuan, and film participants DJ Rekha, and Madelyn Yu — touching on the film, representation, and what it means to be AAPI in America.
