Following a profound personal loss and the onset of a life-changing disability, Renee turned to art as a meaningful source of expression, connection and healing. With an earlier background in music, drawing and photography, she later made a sudden shift into painting.Her work explores the whisperings between the sun and natural world below-how trees, flowers, landscapes and even houses seem to respond to its light.

An eclectic, self-taught artist, Richard Rasa has expressed himself through painting for several years, in a figurative style, while simultaneously pursuing his other creative activities: comic book writer and illustrator, and novelist. Living in the countryside, nature is his setting and his source of inspiration. His paintings are a pictorial narrative of the resilience of animals in the face of all that “humanity” makes them endure. His animal scenes are expressed with poetry, in a vibrant figurative style, inspired by a stained-glass artist’s approach and undeniably marked by his Malagasy origins. Humor is also present despite the sometimes serious nature of the subjects addressed. These are paradoxes that the artist enjoys playing with. His animals, with their clean lines, captivate with their unique expressions and invite us to rethink our relationship with nature.

karo moret-miranda is an Afro-Cuban historian and visual artist whose practice explores the intersections of African and Afro-Caribbean histories, spirituality, memory, race, and gender. Her research-led work moves between painting, watercolour, textiles, embroidery, trapunto, and soft sculpture. Drawing particularly from Yorùbá and Afro-Cuban cosmologies, she explores the ocean, the body, ritual, and material culture as carriers of ancestral knowledge. Her work considers how memories survive displacement and how African spiritual and cultural traditions have been transformed across the Black Atlantic. Through layered surfaces, recurring ritual symbols, and embodied forms, she approaches art-making as a way of recovering histories that have been fragmented, submerged, or excluded from dominant archives.

LINDSEY M COLLECTIONS Kimberly Atwood

Kimberly Atwood is an American contemporary artist and film producer whose work explores emotional memory, identity, abandonment, resilience, and personal transformation through text-driven abstraction. Working primarily with acrylic, pastel, raw canvas, and bold color fields, Atwood creates emotionally charged pieces that blur the line between confession, confrontation, and visual poetry. After decades spent building a career in film and media, Atwood turned more fully toward painting as both language and reckoning. Her work often incorporates stark handwritten or stenciled phrases layered over expressive surfaces, using simplicity and repetition to expose complex emotional states. Themes of grief, longing, visibility, reinvention, and feminine agency recur throughout her practice. Her evolving bodies of work — including the “UN” series and emotionally declarative paintings such as YOU HURT ME, UNheard, and The Horse — reflect a raw but intentional visual language that balances vulnerability with force. Influenced as much by personal history as by contemporary culture, Atwood’s paintings reject perfection in favor of emotional truth. Atwood’s artistic practice exists alongside her work in film production and creative development, where she has spent years building projects across entertainment, sports, and media. THE RHYTHM OF RENEWAL | A Duet Exhibition featuring Lindsey McTavish & Kimberly Atwood
LINDSEY M COLLECTIONS Kimberly Atwood

Lindsey Mctavish is a Canadian contemporary fibre artist based in Nelson, British Columbia. Working primarily with hand-felted and quilted wool & silk, she creates richly textured landscapes that explore memory, emotion and our relationship with the natural world. Mctavish’s work moves between representation and abstraction, using layers of fibre, saturated colour and stitched line to capture not simply the appearance of a place, but the experience of being within it.
Her practice is rooted in an intuitive and tactile process in which landscape becomes a means of exploring change, connection and the passage of time. Her work has been exhibited and featured in contemporary art exhibitions and publications across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe. Mctavish lives and works between Nelson, British Columbia, and a small island in Bayfield inlet on Georgian Bay, Ontario. The distinctive landscape of Georgian Bay, famously depicted by the Group of Seven, has been a defining source of inspiration throughout her life.
