We are pleased to share that works by Andrew Forge, William Bailey and Elizabeth Enders have been featured in "Revelations: A Decade of Collecting, 2016-2026" at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, CT this spring!

"Welcoming something new can unlock revelations. This exhibition highlights selected additions to the Florence Griswold Museum’s collections over the past decade, a number of which will be displayed for the first time [...] Pairing old and new works sparks novel ideas and connections, which are illuminated in this exhibition through thematic conversations between the artworks now making their home at the Museum."

In summer of 2005, when the gallery was located on 25th Street in Chelsea, we present the group exhibition 'Paint It With Black', curated by Phong Bui. Including a selection of paintings by thirteen artists, the exhibition offered alternative applications of black as a color depicting attitudes and moods pertaining to the inner depths that often defy easy readability. ⁠

We are excited to share that today marks the start of Stanley Lewis's 2026 on-site instruction with Umbria Contemporary Arts!

In a special two-week course, Stanley's students will work in plein air painting sessions surrounded by the Umbrian countryside of Monte Castello di Vibio—which we can enjoy in the 2016 painting above—followed by critique in the studio.

"In her series of landscapes, with an emphasis on seascapes painted over past several decades, Enders displays a unique balance of the descriptive and of the imaginary. The essential parts of the particular site in nature, such as the horizon line or a color hue characteristic of a certain area of the coast, are always fully acknowledged. Only open to the public for two weeks, the exhibition on Rivington Street featured works by Clytie Alexander, Greg Drasler, Rackstraw Downes and Stanley Lewis, amongst others. ⁠

"The artist largely eschews preparatory drawings, though she will frequently refer to her sculptures on paper after the fact.
