Black Diamond Gallery is proud to announce Beauty in the Breakdown, a solo exhibition of new works by Brooklyn print maker, Brian Knoerzer. We invite you to join us TONIGHT, from 7-10 pm, for a unique, socially-responsible, opening reception. For your safety, and the safety of others the reception will be held outside, in front of the gallery. The number of guests permitted inside the gallery will be limited and, it should go without saying but- no mask, no entry, no fun.
Beauty in the Breakdown, Knoerzer’s first solo exhibition with the gallery, is aptly symbolic of our collective experience over these past few months. We have been confronted with a complete breakdown of life as we once knew it. Now, as we begin to move forward, we’re tasked with the challenge of rebuilding and creating something new for ourselves in the face of all we’ve lost. Knoerzer’s newest body of work, featuring a series of paper castings, woodcuts on handmade paper, and linocuts, chronicles the prosses of deconstruction and transformation, poignantly reminding us that the loss is part of an evolution that makes room for something new.
