As a celebration of AAPI Month, the PR Museum is honoring PR pioneers from the AAPI community. Today, we explore the life of suffragette Mabel Ping-Hua Lee, infamous for riding a horse in the New York City Women’s Suffrage Parade of 1921. Despite her advocacy and the passage of the 19th amendment, she was still unable to vote due to the Chinese Exclusion Act. However, she still protested for women’s right to vote, knowing she may be excluded. She believed in voting rights for all, no matter your gender or race.
