Leila Heller Gallery (formerly LTMH Gallery) located in the heart of Chelsea’s gallery district promotes a cutting edge program of international contemporary emerging and mid-career artists. The gallery has gained recognition for fostering the careers of artists working across a multitude of disciplines and mediums, helping to establish them among the leading contemporary artists internationally.

“I find a kind of peace at the top of a jump, when there is a momentary pause before the descent. This state of suspension is difficult for me to describe verbally, so I say it through my art.” — Darvish

Later this month, we will present State of Suspension, a solo booth of more than 30 new paintings by Iranian-American artist Darvish Fakhr (darvish) at The Armory Show (The Armory Show), Booth 238, from September 23–27 at the Javits Center.

Across the new body of work, objects float, hover, and drift through the compositions, seemingly freed from gravity. Darvish captures fleeting moments of stillness, between launch and descent.

Alongside the paintings, Darvish will present a live performance throughout the fair, combining elements of tai chi and mime in an exaggerated slow-motion walk that gives the impression of hovering through the booth. At other moments, he will “vandalize” the paintings. Rather than destroying or obscuring the paintings, these interventions give them another layer and, in some cases, an entirely different reading.

We are pleased to share that “Blooming Carpet“ by Melis Buyruk (Melis Buyruk) has been awarded the Excellence Prize at the Gyeonggi Ceramic Biennale (경기도자비엔날레 Gyeonggi Ceramics Biennale)!

The work will be on view throughout the Biennale (September 18 – February 14) and will also enter the museum’s permanent collection.

Gyeonggi Ceramics Biennale is recognized as one of the leading international platforms in contemporary ceramics, held at the Gyeonggi Museum of Contemporary Ceramic Art (GMOCCA) in Icheon, South Korea.

Melis Buyruk (b. 1984, Gölcük, Türkiye) is a contemporary artist working with porcelain. Her large-scale floral ceramic sculptures depart from contained, categorical forms of pottery. Her practice is shaped by a rigorous, process-based approach, where repetition, precision, and material sensitivity give rise to complex sculptural formations. Melis identifies and subtly blends patterns of vegetation and the natural world, creating porcelain flower fields.

Melis Buyruk (Melis Buyruk) was named one of AD’s (AD Middle East) 11 Artists from Turkey You Need to Know. Working between Istanbul and Dubai, she transforms porcelain into large-scale sculptures that reimagine natural textures and structures as immersive landscapes. Her work is held in renowned collections including Louvre Abu Dhabi (Louvre Abu Dhabi) Swipe to see more of her work, featured recently in our New York and Dubai galleries. Leila Heller Gallery is proud to announce a solo booth with Darvish Fakhr at the upcoming Armory Show (The Armory Show)!

Half-Iranian and half-American, Darvish Fakhr (darvish) is an artist whose practice moves between painting and movement art, bringing disparate cultures and ideas into dialogue through what he calls “interference.”

For Fakhr, interference can take the form of movement, paint, or text. His practice fuses Western techniques with Eastern philosophies, bringing together seemingly disparate references from incorporating Persian poetry into oil paintings to transforming a skateboard into a contemporary flying carpet.

Fakhr’s movement-based works, which he calls “gentle civic disruptions,” are inspired by the practice and image of the whirling dervish. Through these works, as in his paintings, he cross-pollinates his Iranian heritage with his Western upbringing, challenging preconceptions through humor, invention, and the playful subversion of stereotypes. His work creates space for cultural exchange, where seemingly distant histories, philosophies, and visual languages can coexist and transform one another.

Fakhr has exhibited and performed internationally, including already at The Armory Show in New York, and his work is held in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London. He currently lives and works in Brighton, UK.

Two black palm sculptures by Douglas White () are now on view outside Leila Heller Gallery at Alserkal Avenue in Dubai. Visit the gallery to experience these striking works in dialogue with the surrounding landscape.

Constructed entirely from reclaimed truck tires, White’s Black Palm sculptures transform an industrial material into the form of towering palm trees, balancing permanence with fragility, and the natural with the manufactured. Through intricate hand-cutting and layering, the sculptures retain traces of their former life while evoking the textured bark and organic growth of living palms.

Both monumental and deeply tactile, the works explore cycles of transformation, resilience, and the shifting relationship between nature and the built environment.

We are pleased to present Contained Movement, a contemporary outdoor sculpture exhibition in the newly renovated Paulson Family Gardens at Southampton Arts Center (Southampton Arts Center) on view from July 3 through October 14, 2026.

Curated by Leila Heller Gallery in collaboration with Simone Levinson, Christine Mack, and Christina Strassfield, the exhibition brings together works by Kiki Smith, Richard Hudson, John Clement, Mia Fonssagrives Solow, Rachel Lee Hovnanian, Katya Emelyanova, Anton Bakker, Arthur Carter, and Helena Chastel. Through bronze, marble, stainless steel, ceramic, fiberglass, and aluminum, the exhibition explores the dynamic relationship between stillness and motion, revealing how sculpture can embody tension, transformation, and quiet energy.

Contained Movement is on view at Southampton Arts Center, 25 Jobs Lane, Southampton, New York, and is free and open to the public through October 14, 2026.

Leila Pazooki’s () exhibition The Same Light is now on view at the DIFC Satellite Gallery () until June 20, presenting three interconnected bodies of work that explore how collective perception and imagination are constructed through language, images, and systems of representation.

She invites viewers into a suspended threshold — the brief moment before an image fully forms, before meaning settles — asking what remains possible when perception has not yet been captured by the endless acceleration of visual culture.

Marking Pazooki’s second solo exhibition in the region in recent months, The Same Light continues her internationally recognized research-based practice and reaffirms her as one of the most incisive voices examining how contemporary visual systems shape not only what we see, but what we are able to imagine.
