ALL YOU NEED IS...
THE FEAR OF BEING CHEESY IN ART
27 JANUARY - 28 FEBRUARY 2022
There is a huge fear in the world of contemporary art to talk about love. However, artists such as Gustav Klimt, Lichtenstein, Frida Kahlo, Auguste Rodin, Rene Magritte, Pablo Picasso, Yoko Ono, Félix González-Torres, just to mention some of the great names, touched on the subject without questioning too much whether their art would be cheesy enough to stop doing it, stop expressing themselves.
Recently, art critics and even some artists are afraid to talk about what really saves us every day. They fear that there is no “intellectuality” in the work when truly “intellectuality” of art does not exist in the selection of the theme but in how it is approached. It would be a shame if the fear of expressing oneself and self-censorship deprives art of continuing to produce concepts, reflections, and… yes, what some people try to avoid: love. All you need is… tries to show us a posture without poses or fears, without mental constructions that only limit creation. This online exhibition lost its fear because it only needs LOVE.
