Project: ARTspace An interdisciplinary creative gallery designed to provide artists and curators a space to exhibit

This new inter-disciplinary creative project space is located in the heart of New York's commercial hub on Madison Avenue. The organization is programming events and exhibitions in which young artists and seasoned curators have the chance to meet, engage, and promote new collaborative projects. Fantastic turnout for the opening of HANDS on FIRE! Works by on view thru Sept 11 • curated by and • HANDS ON FIRE brings together the works of four artists based in New York City—Judy Mannarino, JoAnne McFarland, Farah Mohammad, and Karen J. Revis. Curated by Michelle Weinberg and Leslie Kerby, the exhibition taps into the physicality and energy of each artist's handiwork whether they are collaging, stitching, glazing, firing, cutting, pasting or printing. Their collected works energize and amplify the intersection of the inner lives of women with the challenges and triumphs they face from the external environment, encompassing physical landscape, social and historical contexts. Collectively their dazzling, concentrated energies and activities ignite many fires!

WOODEN opens tomorrow - Thurs Mar 26 - 6-8pm • works by and • After having made works in a variety of materials, Dudek has recently focused on wood, exploring its inherent constructional use and architectural reference. In the exhibit he will present small wall mounted sculptures from his Notational Series. Made primarily by notching and laminating, they continue his interest in how sculpture engages architectural languages.
Feinstein’s wood sculptures range from abstraction to structures that are both imagined and familiar. Her work has been described as an incomplete idea of the familiar. In Wooden, she will present several pieces referencing elements of the figure, drawing and architecture on constructed pedestals and surfaces that are integral to the piece itself.

Save the Date! WOODEN works by Emily Feinstein and Peter Dudek opens Thursday March 26, 6-8pm • Both artists employ wood for its inherent structural properties and color.
