🌎 3 NEW INCers Are Going Across the Pond! 🌎

Blessed Foundation () is delighted to announce the group exhibition Fields of Vision, opening to the public from 25th July to 19th September 2024. The exhibition features three US-based multidisciplinary artists and NEW INCers: Ai Xia (), Jamica El (), and Alfredo Salazar-Caro ().

During the opening evening, Jamica El () will be facilitating a future-visioning workshop.

33 of NEW INC's members presented in the DEMO2024 exhibition showcase. Their work culminated through months of preparation, collaboration, and community support. From meditative XR experiences, a radical anti-capitalist library, and q***r cooperative pornographic practices — this show was designed to present the multifaceted range of works and installations. *BOLD TEXT NEEDS TO BE UPDATED BASED ON IMAGES*

⚡️ Each day of DEMO started with a Power Lunch, an interactive session that highlighted three key aspects of NEW INC's mission and work: career development, mentorship, and sustainability.

💼 On the first day, we hosted an untraditional Career Fair organized in partnership with performance artist and educator Ayana Evans (.m.evans). 12 organizations spanning art, design, and community engagement joined us to share career advice and opportunities. Participating organizations include Artists Alliance (), BPL - Justice Initiatives Group () (), Bridging Access to Care(), Culture Push(), Dia Beacon (), FREER Records (), New Museum (), Public Assistants (), Recess (), Strive (.nyc), Time Square Arts () and Irregular Hours () hooked people up with new headshots! 📝

🫂 On the second day, our NEW INC Mentors hosted free 1-on-1 office hours with the general audience and offered brainstorming support on everything from digital strategy, fundraising, strategic partnership, fabrication and production, and more. Thank you to Eddie Berg, Christina Daniels (), Heather Hart (), Ida Momennejad, James Rohrbach (), Jelani Day (), Jeremiah Ojo(), Jess Van Nostrand(), Lauren Wong(), Onye Ahanotu (), Radhika Agarwa (rm_agarwal), Ross Keong(.co), David Schwartz, and Shama Rahma().

💸 On the last day, we hosted an investors panel with Peter Boyce II (), Mallory Contois (), and Maya Bakhai (), who gave us a 101 on the investment landscape and shared how those in the creative sector seek and manage funding relationships.

The Main Stage at DEMO2024 was on 🔥 with presentations from all five tracks and special guests. From growing plant life with Wi-Fi to understanding cultural trends like the coquette aesthetic using data to understanding new cooperative models for business and work, we covered A LOT of ground.

Looking back at Studio DEMO, our broadcast hub in collaboration with independent art publisher Montez Press Radio (). 🎙️ We hosted a dozen chats featuring NEW INC alumni, creative thinkers, and industry professionals. Some highlights were:

🎤 Rasu Jilani () and Geneva White () kicked us off with a discussion on nurturing and investing in BIPOC talent in creative industries.

MSCHF () and Paola Antonelli () delved into the ways critical design intersect with play and humor. 💡

Stephanie Dinkins (.dinkins) and Tamar Clarke-Brown () discussed AI and how ancestry might serve as source code. 👩🏾‍💻

We concluded our Studio DEMO sessions with a roundtable discussion on the past and future of XR, bringing in NEW INC's founding Director Julia Kaganskiy(), Year 10 member Alfredo Salazar-Caro(), and alumni John Fitzgerald (), Matthew Niederhauser(), and Yasmin Elayat (). 🗣️

ONX Studio is a newly launched space for artists working in extended reality, and is a collaboration between Onassis USA and NEW INC, the ’s cultural incubator.
