With the Tony Awards this weekend, it felt like the right moment to revisit one of our favorite PaleyFest evenings — the 2019 Crazy Ex-Girlfriend panel.

Rachel Bloom and co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna arrived in antidepressant medication couture. The rest of the cast followed: Donna Lynne Champlin, Scott Michael Foster, Pete Gardner, Vella Lovell, Gabrielle Ruiz, choreographer Kathryn Burns, and writer and executive producer Jack Dolgen. Together, they made a show that was genuinely difficult to categorize — part musical, part comedy, part unflinching portrait of mental health — and they talked about making it with the same honesty they brought to the work.

It's hard to think of another series that asked so much of its audience and gave back so much in return. The kind of show that reminds you what the medium is capable of when the right people are left alone to do something they actually believe in.

In 2013 at PaleyFest, Jake Johnson casually revealed that the water massage scene from New Girl wasn't fiction — it was ripped straight from writer Dave Finkel's life.

Marilyn Monroe would have turned 100 today.

To mark her centennial, we’re revisiting Essentially Marilyn: The Exhibit, our 2018 exhibition that explored the life, career, and enduring cultural legacy of one of Hollywood’s most iconic figures.

A century later, Marilyn’s influence can still be found across film, fashion, photography, advertising, and the way celebrity itself is understood.

Some cultural touchstones fade with time.
Others continue to define it.

The fire is still burning. Don't let it go out on you.

By popular demand, our exhibition Outwit, Outplay, Outlast: Celebrating 50 Seasons of Survivor has been extended through June 7. For 25 years, Survivor has asked a deceptively simple question: what does it take to endure? This exhibition explores the strategy, social dynamics, and cultural staying power of one of television's most remarkable experiments — and now you have one more week to experience it for yourself.

This , we're looking back at 2014, when Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. came to The Paley Center in New York for a special live evening with the cast and creators.

The event gave East Coast fans an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at one of Marvel's most ambitious television ventures—with candid conversation about the show's expanding role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the dramatic ripple effects of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and what lay ahead for the team.

For AAPI audiences, the evening carried added significance. Ming-Na Wen and Chloe Bennet (both women of Chinese heritage) brought a rare and resonant visibility to primetime television, at a time when that kind of representation in a major franchise was far too uncommon.

Happy International Burger Day! 🍔

We're celebrating with this gem from PaleyFest at the Dolby Theatre — the moment Dan Mintz (the voice of Tina Belcher) opens his mouth and the entire Bob's Burgers cast completely loses it. Some things never get old, and Tina's voice is one of them.

The Paley International Council Summit is returning to New York, and this year's Summit is one for the history books.

Join us October 19 to 21, 2026, at the iconic Paley Museum in Midtown Manhattan for Global Media in Focus: Power, Platforms, and Perspective. And this year, we're proud to introduce something new: the inaugural Dr. John C. Malone Annual Keynote Address at The Paley International Council Summit.

For more than five decades, Dr. Malone has been one of the most influential architects of the media, communications, and technology world. Known as the legendary "Cable Cowboy," his vision, candor, and strategic insight have shaped how the world connects and communicates. This new annual keynote, made possible by Charter Communications, Liberty Global, Liberty Latin America, Liberty Media, Live Nation, SiriusXM, and Warner Bros. Discovery, ensures that legacy carries forward.

The Summit is made possible by the generous support of Hearst and the William S. Paley Foundation.

Speakers will be announced soon.

This , we’re reflecting on the importance of representation in television and the lasting impact of stories that broaden who audiences see on screen.

In 2017, The Paley Center presented The Mindy Project: Six Seasons of Style, a free public exhibit celebrating the acclaimed Hulu comedy and the creative vision behind its unforgettable fashion and storytelling.

Curated by Emmy-nominated costume designer Salvador Perez, the exhibit featured costumes worn throughout all six seasons, original sketches, episodic photography, and behind-the-scenes video moments from the series.

Shows like The Mindy Project helped open doors for more nuanced, visible, and fully realized AAPI characters and creators in mainstream television — reminding us how meaningful representation can be, both in front of and behind the camera.
