Seen in today's : Before there were bots, there were pots. On this day in 1895 Edward Osgood had pots galore to sell. There were bean pots, pudding pots, lard pots, cake pots and molasses jugs. Seen in today's : Two years into in WWII, readers on this day in 1941 learned that there was a high probability that a special representative of President Roosevelt would come to the city to explore the possibilities of Newburyport’s doing some emergency defense work under the re-armament program. Local residents gathered resources, donated books through campaigns, and worked in factories. The city’s industrial, agricultural, and commercial sectors supported the war. NewburyHistory.org
