Hello,
This is a reminder that The Firehouse Center for the Arts is currently accepting proposals from emerging and established artists for its upcoming exhibition season - and our deadline of April 30, 2018 is just around the corner!
Artists will be selected by blind review for 12 one-person monthly exhibits from October 2018 – September 2019. (Please note: due to the Gallery's configuration, only wall-hung 2D artwork can be exhibited)
A Visual Arts Review Board (composed of Firehouse Board members, professional artists, photographers, and gallery directors) will conduct a blind review of all submitted proposals in May. The Review Board seeks bodies of work that can produce aesthetically coherent one-person shows in our gallery space and more broadly a rich 12-month Gallery Program offering a variety of mediums and styles. In early June all participating artists are notified as to whether/not their proposals have been selected and scheduling of accepted artists begins. The finalized 12-month exhibit schedule is announced by the end of June.
Proposals should include: a Submission Form; bio/resume; Artist Statement; 10-20 jpeg images of proposed artwork; Image List; and $25 entry fee. Please see the attached documents or visit our Gallery Submissions Page for a full list of requirements and PDF downloads of required documents. All submissions are by hard-copy and mailed/hand-delivered to the Firehouse. Submissions are being accepted from 1 March - 30 April 2018.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns regarding the submissions process. I am reachable via email ([email protected]) or at our administrative office at (978)-499-9931 during regular business hours.
Thank you!
Alyssa
