Avery Museum . The Avery Museum features many exhibits covering the past of Avery County, North Carolina, and also features the newly opened Linville Depot.

The Avery County Jail was built in 1913 and served as the jail until 1976 when it became a museum. Today we know this building as the Avery Museum. The Avery Museum features many exhibits covering the past of Avery County, North Carolina, and also features the newly opened Linville Depot, which is the only depot remaining from the East Tennessee and Western North Carolina.
