Friends of Wounded Heroes of America.
We’ve been walking down this road together for some time now--the road to recovery for our Combat Wounded Vets. Many of you have been with us from the beginning in 2001, while others have joined us recently. But together we have one thing in common: we recognize the need to help our Combat Wounded lead lives of dignity worthy of the sacrifice they have made for all of us. “Freedom is not Free.” You hear it over and over, and after a while it loses its meaning; it becomes a cliché without any real connection. Well, “Freedom is Not Free.” It has a huge price. All you need to do is look at the wounds of War and the price is crystal clear. It’s paid for by the blood of our Patriots, and almost always, it’s our young men and women, our children and grandchildren, our brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. So PLEASE come support those who carry the burden of protecting our way of life.
Here’s the good news --NOW it’s time to play golf again. Come join us one more time on May 22nd at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena for another great day with our vets. For those of you who joined us last year, remember what a gratifying day it was and what a wonderful opportunity to spend time with so many of our Combat Wounded. It’s one of the few opportunities we have to come together as a community and show our love and support.
Some of you have sponsored this event in the past. We need your help more than ever. With the wars slowly winding down, more and more of our young warriors are coming home and with them comes the war--post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs), as well as a host of other physical and emotional injuries. It’s not just the vets that are affected it’s the entire families. As time passes, we recognize the urgent need for new programs- such as programs specially targeted to assist single mothers and caregiver- There are real needs in those areas.
Without your continued support, the task becomes nearly impossible. So PLEASE come and support this effort and help those who have given so much. And by the way, you’ll be playing in, or sponsoring, “hands down, “the best golf tournament in town--and that’s a fact…
Get your sticks ready and see you on May 22nd 2019
