IN TWO WEEKS: Don't miss your chance to take home a piece of Nye Beach! The 18th Annual Nye Beach Banner Auction kicks off October 25, with bidding opening online at 3pm, and closing October 29th. Join us for the auction kickoff party at Newport Visual Arts Center from 2-5pm on Sunday, October 25th. You'll get to view all 33 stunning banners, meet some of the talented local artists behind them, and enjoy music and refreshments while celebrating another year of community art. Every banner sold supports OCCA's youth arts, so place your bids and help keep creativity thriving on the Oregon Coast!

COMING SOON: Join us for the debut of FROM FOREST TO FORM - Celebrating the Art and Heritage of Oregon Coast Woodturning. This new exhibit from Oregon Coast Woodturners will be on display October 23 - November 29 in the Runyan Gallery, bringing together artists from all three independent woodturning clubs on the Oregon Coast -- Bay City, South Beach (OCW), and Reedsport -- to celebrate the creativity, craftsmanship, and diversity of contemporary woodturning.

Opening Reception: Friday, October 23rd from 4-6pm. All are welcome; admission is free

COMING NEXT MONTH: "Architecture, Memory, and History" featuring printmaking by Julia Goos. The exhibit features work created while Goos was in residency at Skopelos Foundation for the Arts in Skopelos, Greece, exploring the fragmented nature of memory and the ways we piece together personal and collective histories. The exhibit will be on display in the Upstairs Gallery at Newport Visual Arts Center November 6, 2026 through January 7, 2027.

THIS WEEKEND: Celebrate Newport's latest public art! Join us Saturday, October 10 for "What's New in Newport" — a FREE, all-are-welcome celebration of the city's newest public murals and sculptures. Start with a citywide scavenger hunt throughout the day (with a chance to win a prize), then head to the Newport Performing Arts Center from 4-7pm for a talk by celebrated artist and Sitka Center founder Frank Boyden, followed by live music and food. Join us for a drop-in open studio-style class in GREETING CARD MAKING! In this open studio we will have fun making heartfelt handmade greeting cards. We will create seasonal cards using watercolors, markers, pens, glitter and more. Watercolor card stock, watercolor paint, a variety of markers and pens will be available. Please bring your any card stock or other supplies you prefer to work with. Victoria Biedron will be on hand to get you started and demonstrate ideas for the fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or cards for any occasion. The open studio style class offers the perfect atmosphere for self-exploration and artistic camaraderie. Come join us and take advantage of this opportunity to learn from each other, practice new techniques, and create in community.
