Please mark your calendar and join us at the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center, Newport, OR on Feb 2 when we open this very important and timely exhibition. The 4-7 PM opening reception is free and open to the public. We will begin at 4 PM with a blessing ceremony led by our partners, the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians.

With permission from the families, Indigenous Artist Nayana LaFond has painted 100 portraits of people who are missing, murdered, and/or activists working on this North American crisis. 40 of the portraits will be shown at our location. There will also be a public art project on-site for people to express their feelings or memories of loved ones. LaFond will travel to Newport for programming in March during Women’s History Month.
