One of our historic artifacts in the museum. This is a glass plate negative of George Hazlett and Maude Willard and a barrel they borrowed from Carlisle Graham. This was taken before their barrel ride through the rapids and Whirlpool. Unfortunately Maude didn’t not survive and suffocated inside the barrel after it became caught in the whirlpool for hours. This fridge was built in 1930, manufactured by General Electric. It was was a fridge used to keep beer cold for many blues loving patrons in 70s and 80s. Does anyone recognize it? Know what establishment it came from on Third Street? It still works to this day.

Does anyone recognize this lamp?

It was rescued from the Strand Theater on Falls Street before it was demolished in 1971. At the base of the staircase to the theatre stood two lamps. The Strand opened in 1921. After 100 years the lamps still work.
