New Sketching Workshops!
Learn how to plan your next watercolor painting through the use of value sketches. Topics covered will be composition, lights and darks (value scale) and tools of the trade.

All workshops are limited to 8 people so each student can get lots of individualized instruction. A supply list will be sent out upon receipt of registration. Some paint, paper and brushes will be available for purchase at the workshops.

We have been incredibly quiet and yet so many of you are still here. Yay! We'll try to do a bit better at communicating going forward. In a few minutes I'll be posting about upcoming workshops. In case some of you haven't been buy the gallery lately, I thought I'd fill you all in. We are attempting to sell the building. It's an awesome place and I hope someone will come and put something wonderful in here. Until it sells, we will continue to be open. No one is ill and we are still selling paintings. :) We are all just a little tired of being tied to a building, especially in the summer. So, if you know someone who needs a fabulous spot near downtown Nisswa, send them our way!

Yes, I'm well aware I have been negligent here. ;) But today is a special day so I wanted you to know that it's Russ Norberg's birthday. He's 78 today and still painting up a storm (well, actually today it's a stream from Stony Brook at Fritz Loven park in Lake Shore). :D

In case you didn't know that we carry other lovely things besides Russell Norberg's artwork, here is a photo of one of our best selling gift items. It's called a Lazy Spootle (combination spoon and spatula) and it's made by Jonathan's Wild Cherry Spoons. It makes a lovely gift for anyone that cooks at all. When you're not using it, it waits patiently on the edge of your pan. We LOVE Spootles! :)

I'm so sorry! I haven't announced the winner of the Russell Norberg perpetual calendar! I assigned you all a number and Russ picked a number (77) and it landed on Durin Eberhart. Congratulations, Durin!

We'll draw another one when we get to 150. :)

If you're in the neighborhood of Brainerd, stop by the Franklin Arts Center between 10 am and 5 pm and say 'hi' on Saturday, November 13! It's the Crossing Arts Alliance's Holiday Open House. We'll be showing Russell Norberg's watercolors and would love to have the company. We're in the Upper Gym. Hope to see you there!
