Hamilton County Artists' Association The Hamilton County Artists' Association nurtures emerging, mid-career, and professional artists. The HCAA is a vital part of the arts in Hamilton County.

Hamilton County Artist's Association (HCAA) is the original juried fine arts organization in Hamilton County, Indiana. We've been around since 1950 and our organization is a 501c3 non-profit organization run by all volunteers. It is made up of selected artists from Indiana towns in Hamilton County such as Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Westfield and many others.

TOMORROW September 4th from 11am-12pm is Homeschool Studio (September) w/ Heather Ray Boelke! Students ages 5 to 12 learn about the elements of art and principles of design through a monthly art curriculum taught by licensed art educator and HCAA Juried Artist member Heather Ray Boelke. This course provides engaging hands-on lessons, including concepts of art history and art theory with creative and fine-motor development.

This school year, students explore the unique qualities of different art mediums. They will study 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art forms, along with studio practices that encourage artistic development. September 4ths is Observational Drawing–Still Life Study! We're excited to have A Bright Abyss perform at HCAA's September First Friday: HCAA's 5th Annual Midwest Juried Art Exhibit Reception at the HCAA Birdie Gallery located at 195 S. 5th Street in Noblesville from 6pm-8pm on September 4th! This is a free event/performance, part of the City of Noblesville, Ind. and Noblesville Main Street First Friday events! Enjoy live music, refreshments from Wine & Rind, and see the 60 pieces of artwork that were juried into this annual exhibit by Ball State University Professor of Art juror, David Hannon!

Make it an evening by exploring downtown Noblesville's shops/restaurants that will be open late as well as other First Friday events at Noblesville Creates (more live music!), the Noblesville courthouse square with art vendors and booths, and the 9th Annual Indy Shorts Film Festival from Heartland Film! See you there!

HCAA's 2 Day workshop, Wet Plate/Tintype Photography with Dale Bernstein (Rescheduled), will be at the HCAA Birdie Gallery Saturday, Sept 19th and Sunday, Sept 20th! Step into the world of historic photography with this comprehensive two-day workshop led by renowned wet plate collodion artist, Dale Bernstein. This immersive experience will guide you through the fascinating process of creating tintypes and glass plate images, a technique that dates back to the mid-1800s and continues to captivate photographers and artists today.

Over the course of two days, you’ll learn:
- The history and significance of the wet plate collodion process.
- How to safely handle and prepare chemicals, plates, and equipment.
- Step-by-step techniques for coating, exposing, developing, and finishing your plates.
- Advanced tips for creative compositions, lighting, and troubleshooting.
