The local farming community is mourning the loss of Mr. “Winky” Henley of Henley Farms

Winky passed away, leaving behind a legacy that helped shape farming in Pungo and touched so many families over the years. Henley Farms has been part of countless traditions — from strawberry picking to time spent on the farm — and that kind of impact doesn’t happen without a lifetime of hard work and dedication.

Old Beach Farmers Market recognizes what 60+ years in agriculture truly means. That kind of knowledge, commitment, and presence in the farming community is rare, and it leaves a lasting mark.

Our hearts are with the Henley family during this difficult time. We know his legacy will continue through them and through the farming community he helped build.

Sending love, prayers, and support to his family, friends, and all who knew him.

It’s finally time!!! Opening day is Friday, 9am, and we will be open all weekend, 9-6 (we will open at 8am Saturday for the early birds).
First berries to be ready this year are the Ruby Junes and the 025s (a new variety that has replaced the Sweet Charlie’s). There might also be some Chandlers ready. Grab your buckets or get one from us, see you soon!🌞🍓💕
