All gave some and some gave all
Some stood through for the red, white and blue
And some had to fall (song by Billy Ray Cyrus, 1992)

May we never forget those who gave all

Trevor Aiken

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1950, he came to the United States at the age of two. In 1968 he graduated from North Branford High School. Later he moved to Long Beach, California to attend college, where he passed away in 1976. Tragically, he was murdered during a robbery in which the only item taken was a stereo. Such a senseless loss of a young life over something so insignificant.

Civil Defense was once an important part of every town. It was created to educate and prepare citizens for wartime emergencies. Many people remember the “duck and cover” drills practiced in schools, intended to prepare the public in the event of a nuclear attack.
The photos are items used by Civil Defense volunteers.
