The Life and Times of Henry A. Wallace: The Iowa County Historical Society has a program coming right up next Sunday, August 9th. Tom Milligan will be presenting his 1st-person Henry A. Wallace program on Sunday, August 9, 2:00 pm at the Marengo Public Library, Lower Level. An Iowa State University grad, Henry Wallace was a co-founder of Pioneer Hi-Bred Seed Corn Company and was the 11th Secretary of US Dept of Agriculture and 33rd vice president of the United States under Franklin D. Roosevelt (1941–1945). As Secretary of Agriculture, he advanced farm supports, rural electrification, and the "ever-normal granary" policy. He is memorialized in Iowa in a number of ways!
