Hello NPAC Homeschool parents,
The North Port Art Center will be sponsoring an “ART SPEAKS #4” event at the Shannon Staub Library Saturday May 23, 2:00pm-4:00pm. This multi disciplinary experience invites artist and poets to come together. The North Port Poets will write poems inspired by submitted artwork and the artists will share a little about their art as well. There will also be music by young students. Family and friends are invited to this free event.
Your homeschooled child is invited to exhibit 1-2 pieces of art that has been created during any NPAC art activity and share a little about their art.
If your child is interested in participating, please send (by May 1st.)a pic of the art so that poets may use it for inspiration to: [email protected]

If you miss all the fun classes, art shows and events at the North Port Art Center, If you wonder about the future of the arts in North Port…then attend the next budget hearing before the City Commissioners on Tuesday, April 7th at 10am at City Hall. The City Manager will again include in his budget proposed funding for the NPAC and other nonprofits. Your support of a new center for arts would be greatly appreciated.

Volunteers needed: Wellen Park is celebrating its annual Family Fun Day on April 11th and NPAC will be helping with the arts & crafts booth. There will be all kinds of activities, live music and fireworks.

The NPAC still has room for students in our Wednesday January course: “Puppets, Stage & Stories”, where students will collaborate in creating the story, scripts, puppets AND present a 10-15 minute presentation at the end of the last class.
