I am delighted to acknowledge the accomplishments of Sam Daughtry, a skilled young potter based near Danbury, North Carolina. He obtained bricks from the kiln site of the late Arthur Ray Cole, Cole Pottery, in Sanford, North Carolina, and relocated them to his new property. There, he built a kiln shelter and a large wood-fired kiln. I recently had the opportunity to meet Sam and assist with firing the kiln for the third time. I firmly believe that Sam Daughtry will emerge as a prominent figure in the North Carolina pottery community. I hope you enjoy the photos of his soda-fired pottery!
