I just put this sign out in our yard. Strange that it was kinda difficult. I don’t feel as though I see nearly enough of them. At a glance it seems Trump voters have no difficulty posting their preference. I want to lean in. I am experiencing a reignited awareness that Democracy is not a spectator sport. That even in these United States the ideology of Democracy itself is under a severe and frightening attack. Not from bonafide Conservatives, mind you, rather from Trumpian evangelists.

"Still Smoldering", 2018

One of 14 new, mostly abstract creations in colored pencil, adding new depth and excitement for me as an artist creating a metaphor visiting gallery goers could actually walk into. New works on display "live" in-between the large graphite drawings emphasizing the breadth of human experience and perception.

Curiosity.

Generally speaking, over the last five years whilst I've been creating the large black and white graphite pieces touching (pun intended) human emotion and story through hands, I've always had a good idea where I was going to end with each piece. These new works represent an artistic stretch that forces me to rely upon my curiosity, trust my instincts and explore what is possible. Maybe you'd even like it?
