We are excited! The new fence is installed and has a coat of stain on it. It is now protected from the weather.

We would like to thank Katahdin Forest Products for the fence, Virgil Tucker for installing it. Also thanks to Maggie Briggs McLaughlin for helping me get the stain on. The wood is now protected from the weather.

The mini station is back in it's winter quarters, thanks to Dick Elliot.

A huge thank you to all involved in the Museum maintenance and operations. You are appreciated

Just wanted to remind everyone the ORM is now Closed for the Season, On another note: We had a very successful work Day at the Museum Yesterday Morning into the afternoon , One of the Big Projects we are working on at the Museum is BAR Caboose C66 , C66 has of course spent its entire Life outside and in the Elements the Caboose Started out its Life as NYC /MDT wooden Sided Re**er Box Car, it was purchased by the BAR at some point and when it was retired from Re**er Service it was taken to Derby shops around 1948 and reconfigured and rebuilt to a Caboose or "Buggy" as they were Known on the BAR so now its 70+ years old and of course the wood in the south side is deteriorating quite Badly , I personally started working on that mess in the fall of 2020 but quickly discovered I needed Help and in the Midst of a Pandemic That Proved almost impossible , in the spring of 2021 we were preparing for the 30 year anniversary Celebration and had planned on attacking the Caboose at that time and then Tragedy struck and the Museum was Broken into and Many items were stolen , Luckily we retrieved everything but 2 items that set us back a number of weeks and by that time It was Much to Hot outside to work on the Caboose , anyway fast forward to the spring of 2022 I was getting geared up to work on the Caboose again and I contracted COVID , I did not get deathly sick from it but I was weeks and weeks before i felt able to tackle the Caboose again , and of Course it got too Hot again , I have not had Much opportunity to be at the Museum this summer Because I have Been and Remain Extremely Busy with Projects at my own Home , anyhow I Made this Video of the Caboose today and describe some of the issues with C-66 and I guess I am Pleading for Help Come spring time if the ORM does not get some new Volunteers and Board Members within the next few years It may be in danger of Closing , think about that a minute 31 years of work and preservation Efforts DOWN THE TUBES! Please if you feel motivated and Interested Reach out and ask us about becoming a part of this or Even Helping Thank You All for your Interest In the ORM Enjoy this short Video documenting C-66 , signed Your Vice Pres Danny Brown
