SLATE is pleased to present an exhibition of paintings by Steven Hight (.c.hight) at 101 Second Street Lobby in San Francisco. The exhibition will be on view from May 7 to September 10, 2026.

Steven Hight's abstract paintings explore the drama of the natural world through the creation of complex linear frameworks, dynamic patterning and rich color application. Densely layered swathes of paint create complex labyrinths of color and tone that rise, fall, and weave throughout the works. Crisscrossing the surfaces of the canvases, layers of thick pigment speak to a deeper sense of knowing. His paintings suggest there is much to uncover if you spend the time to look.

SLATE is proud to present "Made in Oakland," opening Saturday, May 30 at SLATE Annex, located at 473 25th Street, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Oakland Art Murmur. Featuring paintings, sculpture, and works on paper by six Oakland-based artists, the exhibition celebrates the depth of creativity and artistic energy that continues to shape this city. As a gallery rooted in Oakland for the past 15 years, we’re honored to be part of this community and excited to spotlight some of the artists who make Oakland such a vital and inspiring place.⁠

SLATE Contemporary Gallery is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of paintings by California artist Amy Donaldson at the North Block Hotel in Yountville, CA. This exhibition is presented as part of the ongoing A Living Canvas series at the North Block Hotel. Artwork will be on view in the hotel lobby, and throughout the dining room at The Restaurant at the North Block from May 28 through September 27.

The Exhibition will launch with a special event open to the public
on Friday June 5th from 3–5pm.

Clothing and lifestyle designer Erica Tanov will share her newest collection, alongside sips from Rue de Rêve Apéritifs and bites by Chef Azalina. Azalina will also take over the kitchen at The North Block to present a one-night multi-course dining experience that evening, blending vibrant Maylaysian flavors with a fresh
California perspective.

There’s something especially rewarding about seeing a painting settle into its new home and begin to shape the rhythm of a space. Hannah Franco’s "S6.02 Spinning Stars" brings a sense of movement and stillness at once, revealing new details as the light shifts throughout the day.

SLATE is pleased to present artwork by Jen Garrido at Nordstrom Local, a new service hub that includes rotating art exhibitions located at 1919 Fillmore Street in San Francisco. On view through July 6, 2026.

Jen Garrido creates paintings that reflect internal dialogue, natural forms, and the materials she works with. She attunes to a study of self that guides her through feeling lost, found, and lost again. Formal elements are inspired by nature—they excavate, uncover, and unearth. And she attunes to her relationship with the medium of the paint or drawing materials, projecting images and forms from a play between her inner landscape and the outside world onto the surface of the canvas. Palette emerges from feeling rather than preconception.
