I am in love with this Unicorn 🦄 design by Rob Snyder!
Livestream tutorial happening today (Saturday, October 11) at 12pm EDT on YouTube. The recording will remain available online once the class has ended. Link in comments below.
I folded this beauty from a 15cm sheet of Tie Dye patterned origami paper from Tuttle Publishing.
This clever equine design makes good use of pleats, rabbit ears, and inside reverse folds to create this approachable four-legged creature. It also doubles well as a traditional origami horse with a simple modification of tucking the horn underneath the muzzle (demonstrated in this tutorial). Lean this model if you need a solid, simple Chinese Zodiac Origami Horse model for the upcoming Chinese New Year.
Recommended paper: a larger piece of kami or any thin paper ranging from 7-10in. If you use larger paper, you probably want a sheet that is a little bit heavier. Smaller paper (6in/15cm or smaller) may be especially challenging when first learning the model, as this model shrinks down a lot.
