Thought I would see if lightning could strike twice… I painted this church in Frelsburg, Texas, en plein air last spring. It won best of show at the Paint Texas! Plein Air Event in Columbus. It was rainy, moody and quietly soft in shadow.
This, however, is Texas in mid-summer, and the warmth and contrast are “bumping”!

What a great 2 days at the Live Oak Art Center in Columbus, Texas this weekend!
I was honored to offer beginning watercolor painting instruction to 10 incredible people. With the exception of 1 student, this was their first experience with watercolor, and they made beautiful paintings!

All of my beginner to intermediate watercolor workshops are all-inclusive, so there is no risk of investing in materials for something you don’t like. The paintings are all pre-drawn, so there is no time-consuming, frustrating drawings to make. All of the time is focused on actually painting!

I’m not sure if I’ve ever drawn or painted a tractor before. This one, which is parked in a pasture along a highway that I frequent, has some striking positive/ negative shape going on. This is more or less a quick draw, a study if you will, and I will make screen prints of tit later.
