Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I’m back from vacation and ready to roll! The shop is open until 5PM today, so stop on in and grab all your hobby needs. Whether you’re into trains, diecast, model kits, games, or supplies, we’ve got something for everyone and if you don’t see what you’re looking for, I’ll do my best to get it ordered in for you!

A huge THANK YOU goes out to Dan for holding down the fort and keeping the shop running while we were away. We truly appreciate it! 🔥

This week we're celebrating the winners of the Oil Region Historic Preservation Awards.

Today's featured winner is Venango Museum.

Venango Museum of Art, Science & Industry was nominated by Oil City Main Street under the Preservation Stewardship category for their ongoing long-term care of the historic 1905 Federal Post Office building that houses the museum. The museum recently completed exterior facade restoration work on the building, originally constructed as Oil City’s Federal Post Office and a prominent example of Beaux-Arts civic architecture. The building exhibited significant deterioration, which not only affected its appearance, but posed long-term risks to its structural integrity. Restoration included careful masonry cleaning, repointing of deteriorated joints, repair and stabilization of damaged stone, and sealing of vulnerable areas to prevent further moisture intrusion. All work was completed using preservation appropriate materials and methods to retain the building’s historic character while extending its lifespan.

The Historic Preservation Awards were held Thursday, May 14, from 6-8 p.m. at the Rhoades Center on the Oil Region Venango Campus to celebrate this and all of the winners of the Historic Preservation Awards!
