Over the years, people from across the country have come to the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum and left personal items of remembrance to honor those who were killed.

In the early 2000s, Jason M. Rusk left his military medals and ribbons on the fence alongside a handwritten message that read, “I serve for you!” pinned to the back of a Nabisco box.

Items continue to be left on the Fence and Field of Empty Chairs to this day and are carefully preserved by the Memorial Archives.
