MaMo Gallery will still be closed this Friday, but we'll be open again next month with our first show of the season, Little Joys by Ben Dumas

Little Joys is an installation and assemblage of 365 objects exploring the meaning and feeling of home.

This project began with the collection of a ‘little joy’ in the form of a remnant item on December 31, 2024 - a daily habit that continued each day throughout 2025.

Little Joys will open Friday April 3rd from 6-10pm

Workshop & Artist Talk with live improvised music Sunday, April 19th, 2pm - 4pm

We hope you'll join us next week for the opening of our next show, Breathing Occupation, put together by Nebraskans for Palestine.

“Breathing Occupation” is a vignette into the West Bank and Gaza as well as Palestinian diaspora here in Omaha. Through showcasing art and immersive displays from local Palestinians, this is a place to educate, process, and encourage ongoing action. The artists and Nebraskans for Palestine wish to cultivate awareness about Palestinians’ history and present, U.S. involvement in Israel’s ongoing genocide of Palestine, and share how participants can get further involved.

Nebraskans For Peace: Palestinian Rights Task Force (Nebraskans For Palestine) is a grassroots advocacy organization, using nonviolence, political pressure, community education, and cultural preservation to advance the liberation of Palestine from the Heartland.

april vendetta’s work is rooted in community-based performance art practices,
inspired by sci-fi, tattoo culture, B**M community, and gender play. Their
no-holds-barred approach to figuration and artistic expression derives from a DIY
OR DIE mentality and punk aesthetic. Their first solo exhibition, BODY OF/AND
WORK, at DUPLEX, New York, NY, in 2023, explored archiving as an act of
radical repair. In 2015, vendetta founded Human Trash Dump, an online,
open-source, collaborative archive of digital media.

April Vendetta is an artist and archivist whose work explores control, labor, punishment, and surveillance—examining the body’s resilience in the face of it all. With over a decade of experience in community-based performance art, they founded Human Trash Dump in 2015, an online, open-source collaborative archive.

Their practice also bridges personal history and cultural memory, including preserving a home movie collection documenting the art and life of their late uncle, Kent Bellows.
