Kahnekano·lú Cultural Center The Oneida Nation Museum has relocated and has been renamed the Kahnekano·lú Cultural Center. We opened our doors to the public on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Come explore and learn about Oneida history and culture! Our guided tours include an oral presentation of all exhibits and displays by cultural education staff and generally last 45 - 60 minutes. Tours can be altered to accommodate audience special needs or age groups upon request. Please discuss such requests with the cultural education staff when scheduling your visit. To facilitate questions and to ensure your comfort and enjoyment it is our policy to divide groups of 30 or more. For groups not immediately touring the museum, we offer a selection of interactive activities. These vary seasonally and with the availability of materials. Our current options will be discussed with you prior to your visit.

A big Yaw^ko (thank you) to Seymour Community School District for bringing your 8th grade students to the Kahnekano·lú Cultural Center yesterday! 😊

We enjoyed welcoming your students and sharing the rich history, culture, and traditions of the Oneida people. Opportunities like these help us share our stories, preserve our history, and build understanding for future generations.

Thank you for taking the time to visit, learn, and connect with us! We hope your students enjoyed their experience and left with a greater appreciation for Oneida history and culture.

As we prepare to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day on Monday October 12th, the Kahnekanolu Cultural Center would like to recognize an individual from the Seneca Nation whom we commissioned to create this one-of-a-kind Moose antler piece for the Grand Opening of our cultural center.

Hayden Haynes
Seneca Nation, Deer Clan; Kiowa; Muskoke

Hayden Haynes is a mixed media artist specializing in antler carving. He blends ancestral techniques with contemporary aesthetics, expanding the craft to inspire others to take up this traditional art form. His work highlights Indigenous resiliency, rooted in his appreciation of the strength and fortitude of Haudenosaunee women, especially his mother and grandmother.

Our plans in the near future are to invite Hayden to Oneida to demonstrate and teach antler carving in hopes of revitalizing this artform back into our community. Stop into the KCC and check out his work this Monday! And Stay Tune
