Love History? Need a Resume Boost? ⚓️

The Ontonagon Lighthouse is looking for student volunteers and or retirees, to join our team as Cashiers this summer!
If you're looking for a fun way to give back to the community and spend your summer by the water, this is the perfect spot for you.
The Details:

Time Commitment: Just 4 hours a week.
We’re open 7 days a week, 11am-3pm.
Role: Assist tour guide by handling entrance fees and souvenir sales using an iPad. Be a friendly face at our historic landmark!
Perks: Gain valuable experience in customer service and retail that looks fantastic on a college or job resume!

The Ontonagon County Historical Society will hold its monthly dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 16th at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon. Dean Juntunen will present a DVD video by nationally famous food documentarist Andrew Zimmern including two segments: Petersons Fish Market (commercial fishing footage included), and traditional foods by a Finnish family living north of the Bridge in the Keweenaw. Public is welcome. To make or change reservations, please call Sue Basile at 906-884-2084 no later than noon April 12th. The menu will include pulled pork, mashed potatoes with skins, green salad, and carrot cake. Price is $15.

The Ontonagon County Historical Society will hold its monthly dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 19th at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon. Photographer Nathan Miller will present on his 2025 photo shoot of all businesses in Ontonagon County (part of the Rieger photo documentary project which started in 1970). Public is welcome. To make or change reservations, please call Sue Basile at 906-884-2084 no later than noon March 15th. The menu will include Swiss Steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, and strawberry shortcake. Price is $15.

The Ontonagon County Historical Society will hold its monthly dinner meeting
at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 19th at Holy Family Catholic Church in
Ontonagon. Kristin Ojaniemi will present on the Sylvania Wilderness Area,
with support from two presenters from Land O Lakes. Public is welcome. To
make or change reservations, please call Sue Basile at 906-884-2084 no later
than noon February 15th. The menu will include lasagna, garlic bread, green
salad, and chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Price is $15.
