This past Sunday on Mother’s Day we honored the thousands of brave mothers who, through unimaginable hardship and sacrifice, placed their children in the care of the New York Foundling. Their decisions were made out of love, hope, and the desire to give their children a chance of life and opportunity.

Their stories remain an important part of our history shaping us through the orphan train movement to Louisiana.

May we remember them with compassion, dignity, and respect, honoring their strength it took to make such difficult choices.

We invite you to tour the museum and hear our beautiful stories of LIFE and learn more about this untold history .
