Hi everyone. I've titled this short video, "a heartbeat at my feet", part of a quote from a writer by the name of Edith Wharton that has a lot of meaning to all of us.

Tomorrow promises fierce competition, joyous barks, and the excitement of every ball launched as paws race toward victory. Wishing the Kaotic K9's great success, and thank you for all your hard work in making this tournament possible!

At the Tillamook tournament, I delivered a portrait to Karen that she had won at the Muddy Paws tournament. It was a sizable piece, roughly 24x29", printed on metallic paper that really enhanced the overall aesthetic, giving it a unique, almost glowing effect.

Tillamook had a shorter runback, so I found myself about 20-25 feet closer to the handlers and dogs at the start than I usually would be. I typically keep my distance to avoid getting in the way—that would be bad! But since I was already up close, I figured, why not throw on the wide-angle lens and move in a couple of feet more for shots like this? I think the last time I did something similar was back in 2019 in Bremerton. Glad I went for it!
