Not all art starts in a studio. Some of it starts in an archive.

Over the past decade, Miami-based artist Dennis Scholl has been quietly, methodically gathering the physical record of one of humanity's greatest adventures: space exploration. Mission patches. Declassified documents. Photographs. Newspaper clippings. Each piece a small artifact of something far larger than any of us.

In Dennis Scholl: A Day of Four Sunsets, those collected fragments come together as intricate assemblages, organized around the dodecagon, a twelve-sided shape that recurs throughout Scholl's practice as a symbol of cyclical time and cosmic order.

The result is an exhibition that feels like looking at history and the universe at the same time. And you can experience it right here in Orlando.

International Museum Day reminds us that museums are more than places to view art. They are spaces for connection, curiosity, learning, and community.

At OMA, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the power of art. That’s why we invite you to join us for our upcoming Access for All day, offering free admission and welcoming everyone through our doors.

Spend the day exploring exhibitions, discovering new perspectives, and experiencing all the museum has to offer.
