The teepee is up! Come visit us tomorrow. The museum and blacksmith shop will be open from 9-2. The antique fi****ms presentation will be in front of the museum, under the awning, at 11:00 am or directly after the parade.

HARLAN COUNTY MUSEUM IN ORLEANS (north of swimming pool)
This week the Museum will be open their normal hours of Thursday-Friday-Saturday, 1-4pm PLUS
Mike Valenzuela plans to work in the Blacksmith Shop which is part of the Museum on Wednesday and Thursday at about 2pm and two other Smiths will come at about 4pm.
While in Orleans for the Fair, check out the Museum and the special activities at the Blacksmith Shop.
Museum will be open for viewing Thursday through Saturday 1-4 pm

Every year we are featuring a town in Harlan county. Come see our display on Republican City this year. We are open Thursday, Friday, amd Saturday from 1-4 PM.

We will be opening for the season this Thursday. Hours are from 1-4pm Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Also we will have our monthly meeting Tuesday the 27th at 7 pm. Meetings are open to the public. Come join us if you are interested in becoming a volunteer or if you just want to attend the meeting and see what we're up to!

Reminder! Republican City is our featured town this year at the museum Orleans. We have quite a few photos already, but we are still looking for some memorabilia if anyone has stuff they would like to loan or donate. This photo was taken in 1932 at District 60, southwest of Orleans. The teachers name was though to be Tressie Leopold. (Not sure if the first letter is a T). Does anyone recognize this photo or anyone in it? Or know of anyone that went there? District 60 closed in 1963 and the building was moved a short time later.
