Sea turtle season officially starts TODAY in Volusia County! 🐒

From now to the end of October, hundreds of turtles will nest on our beaches, and hatchlings will soon make their journey to the ocean.

Here's what you can do to help protect them:
β€’ Do NOT touch or disturb turtles or nests
β€’ Keep beach lights off or use sea turtle-friendly lighting at night
β€’ Avoid flash photography; use red LED lights instead
β€’ Fill in holes, flatten sandcastles & remove beach gear
β€’ Throw away trash properly

Small actions can make a big difference for these turtles! Learn more: www.volusiaseaturtles.org
