We just posted a photo of an inside view of the Amundson building shop. It was suggested that Mr Julson was a man in the photo. Another follower asked about the bowling alley in the basement. Unfortunately there aren't many in our hands but would love to see anyone's private collection examples. Here are a couple pics of the alley below the shop but no lane views. Thanks for suggesting the post. The 3rd photo is a little wider shot that shows the sign on the corner.

The top photo is dated approximately 1957. This is an inside view of the Charlie Amundson Ford Garage he built in the early 20's. If you know who is in the photo, please share. Maybe one of our other OHS folks will see and know right away. I believe it was Chilson's in 1959 before moving to Eau Claire in the early 60's so it was likely right before that or the date on the photo is off. Chilson's did sell AMC and that looks like a 59 Rambler wagon. When was it operated by Julson's? The shop is currently operating as Budget Transmission and the lower photo is only an hour old. I'd be happy to revise with any corrections or info-Thank you

We could not have asked for a better Nordic Fest! It was a beautiful day with even better people. Our display room at city hall had a constant flow of new friends and old and the history wagon rides went out full all day long. I hope you got a chance to listen to Dave, Stuart, and John as they led our tours and may have been the star of the show. We look forward to seeing everyone back in September 2027. A big thank you to all who helped put this on and the Osseo Area Chamber of Commerce for making this a priority event for our City Of Osseo, WI. A shout out as well goes to Riley of R & L Wagoneer's for running the tractor and wagon for us and to 102.3 WHTL for the additional live event exposure.

Rain would be nice but not enough to cause a flood like we had in March of 1919. Has anyone heard family stories that have been shared over the years? The back of photo #1 list's the names "Josephine Olson Steen", "Gladys Erickson", and "Verna Negard Jackson". It appears they enjoyed a nice boat ride in the street while the water was up. The second photo is taken looking North on Highway 53 toward the bridge/dam. I think the building on the left is Chester Haugens shop.

This is a photo of Gilbert Larson who was the manager of Osseo Christmas Trees back in the day. He was a real saint to put up with 16 Osseo boys who were hired to shear trees in June and July. They would jump in the back of the truck known as the "blue goose" (in the background) and ride to to the fields while happily collecting their $1.60 an hour wage. I'm unable to pinpoint a date from the photo. Later years came different managers and as recent as the 80's many remember working the same job for Brennan Rice.
