WEEK OF MAY 18TH: We started out the week with hula hoop races, which was lots of fun. We said good bye to our Blue Valley helpers and to the chicks. (Chicks went to the farm). As always, we had lots of music going on. Even some entertainment from our own day program participant. While the guys played games, the ladies made cookies and then joined in for some games. We ended the week with a dance party.

LAST WEEK - we did some ax throwing, enjoyed the chicks and checked on the garden. We celebrated Mother's Day with a tea and made and ate edible turtles. Ken brought his 1936 Chevy by and did a show and tell for us. Delaney played for Jack's and Neta's birthdays. Of course we did some dancing and played volleyball. We also visited among friends!

LAST WEEK - We are continuing to watch the chicks grow and enjoy holding them and we acquired another turtle. Thanks to the spring weather, we got outside and played with the whirly birds, a favorite! Inside we played balloon bop with pool noodles and tossed around a giant beach ball, also a favorite. The women created flowers using pastels and tissue paper while the men played their own version of the Kentucky Derby. We have a competitive group!

LAST WEEK - The chicks are growing and getting a lot of love from us. We had an outdoor and an indoor concert with two different entertainers. Our sketch artist quietly captured our activities. The guys got into the silly hats and enjoyed each other's friendships. We continue to try to attract nature and made pinecone bird feeders and set up another bird house. We also did some salad spinner art and ended the week with some special small visitors and did karaoke!

Last week was for the birds. We painted birdhouses in anticipation of doing some birdwatching. We did the chicken dance in anticipation of the chicks hatching. Celebrated Mikki's birthday (our bird lady). Celebrated Terry's birthday. Watched to chicks hatch and gave them a lot of love. Rasheed brought in a turtle he found and one of the chicks sat on its back. We also did some art with dried flowers and created parking lot art!

We took advantage of the spring weather and enjoyed our first outdoor concert of 2026. There was lots of music to dance to and listen to. Both of the Mikes performed and our own cello player performed. We made sensory bags and had a guest help us make spring wreaths. The guys once again helped tidy up the grounds. Of course we also enjoyed visiting with our friends. Good week!

The week before Easter kept us "hopping"! Mike Ashley entertained and not only got us dancing but let us accompany him with our own musical instruments. The guys enjoyed the weather and tidied up the property. Togo came to visit and get some love. There was a fun game of corn hole and lots of Easter crafts. Our sketch artist was back and did a fantastic job! Jeanie had some visitors and they joined in on the crafts. We also got a visit from Max and continued to celebrate Easter.

Last week was arty! We had a very talented artist sketch pictures of our pets and of us. Then it was our turn to be artistic and we made doggy bags and made flowers by tracing our hands. We were entertained by Mike and a guest who accompanied him on the cello! Then we got moving and played indoor soccer with the large inflatable ball. And as always, we had volunteers to help us tidy up!

St Pat's shenanigans, two birthdays, dancing to music by Mike Ashley, planting potatoes, bubbles, playing volleyball with a large beach ball and friendships! That was what last week was all about. And big thank you to those who like to help us tidy up!

The weather has been up and down, but not us. We are going strong! The ladies got in touch with their artistic side and then there was an intense game of bingo. (Games always bring out our competitive side). Mike once again got us up moving and singing. We enjoyed lunch with friends and the music of Kristen and Delaney. We got a lot of love from Mikki's dog, Togo. We did puzzles, drew some pictures and got ready for birdwatching season!
