It’s ice excavation time at OHTM! This week in Owls Nest, young visitors can explore Ice Excavation Rescue - a playful, hands-on activity designed especially for little learners. Owlets will free frozen animals from ice, practicing problem-solving and learning about melting.

Join OHTM Saturday, May 23 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for STEM Saturday: Kaleidoscope Eyes, a hands-on, family-friendly STEM experience. Discover how light and reflection work together as you design and build your own kaleidoscope. Experiment with patterns, color, and symmetry to create something uniquely your own.

• Who: Families with students in grades K–8
• Cost: Free with admission or membership

Young visitors will explore chemical reactions through classic baking soda and vinegar eruptions while practicing observation and early science skills through playful discovery.

Thursday, May 21
Junior Inventors: Robotic Hands | ages K–8
4:30–6:30 PM
Participants will build their own robotic hands and test their capabilities through a hands-on engineering challenge exploring movement, mechanics, and design. The Science & Industry Center will remain open until 7 PM for Junior Inventors families.

Friday, May 22
Owls Nest: Mini Volcanoes | ages 2–4
10:30–11:30 AM
Another opportunity for little learners to experiment with bubbling reactions and colorful chemistry exploration.

Saturday, May 23
STEM Saturday: Kaleidoscope Eyes | grades K–8 & families
10:00 AM–4:00 PM
Play with light, mirrors, and repeating patterns while designing and building your own kaleidoscope. Families are invited to explore this creative STEM activity together. No registration required.

This week at Junior Inventors, participants will explore water density! Conduct experiments to see how objects float or sink, and learn the science behind water layers. Junior inventors this week will be having a shorter session, ending at 6pm!
