Still Life with Technology opens this Friday at College of Southern Nevada North Las Vegas campus.

From Charlie Chaplain’s questioning of the machine in the film ‘Modern Times’ to Umberto Boccioni’s exhilarating ideals about technology’s possibilities ‘modern-day’ artists have created a vital and powerful dialog about the impact of technology from the beginning of the industrial revolution. This is my attempt to draw attention to what we are doing to ourselves and the world.

I'll be posting a schedule of tours and times when I will be there drawing. Seeing the digital screen was such a thrill, you know that feeling of excitement you sometimes get? I got it.

This is one of the most beautiful books on Nevada I have ever seen ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I only recently discovered Sydney Martinez | Great Basin Writer & Rambler, I have been missing out. She has a podcast too. And, to add to the experience Goldwell Open Air Museum artist Albert Szukalksi's Last Supper made it into the book!!!! It took me a while to understand Nevada and I am nowhere near yet but I feel like I made another step ❤️Thank you Sydney! I hope to meet you at Beatty Days in October 😃 Town of Beatty Beatty Chamber of Commerce- Gateway to Death Valley nicholehans Patrick Taylor Michelle Graves Antwane Lee Emily Budd

This is the bottom end of a turbine at Hoover Dam. It's from above and it shows the scoops that the water fills to turn the rotor. I bought two new compasses from Mr Pen, an 8" and a 12" they are beautifully made and designed for woodwork really but great for drawing too. I can draw huge circles now. .pen

We had a wonderful time at I don't have a picture of Julie's painting but the above pictures are of Laura Esbenson's work, and I think the beautiful bowl is her mum's gorgeous glass work. I love Laura's work and I've been looking for a fruit bowl for sometime now, this is the fantastic joy of shopping locally. Thank you!

I finished it. One day I will leave one part finished. I choose a mid-yellow acrylic paint background, I like the brightness of the colour against the pencil shades. This is the top view of the electricity generating part of a turbine at Hoover Dam. I love the Dam, it's a huge source of inspiration.

Beginning of a drawing of a Hoover Dam turbine generator rotor. It's the part that generates electricity. It's an electromagnetic component that spins and converts the physical motion of the water passing through the turbine 'scoops' below into electricity. You can see it at the rotor at the Hoover Dam museum.
