In 1894, John S. and Samuel E. Edsall formed this real estate firm, selling the remaining portions of the land they inherited from their father Samuel after his death on March 17, 1882, at the age of 70. They divided the land into individual lots, and while this real estate venture was successful, they both continued to maintain their farming interests in the borough.

Seen here is the second map of the Edsall property which was filed April 12, 1895.

Residents gather for the annual Christmas tree lighting in front of the borough hall in 1970. The pictured tree remained until 1991 when a Colorado Blue Spruce replaced it. The new tree was dedicated to the members past and present of the Palisades Park Fire Department. Recognize anyone in the photo?

Pictured here in 1946 is proud resident Edward H. Meier, a cashier and director of National Bank of Palisades Park and later bank president, who refused to shave his beard until the war bond drive’s goal was achieved. Meier’s steadfast commitments raised over $180,000, an accomplishment which brought much praise and recognition from the United States Treasury Department’s War Finance Committee. The government was so impressed with the drive that a medium bomber was named in honor of Palisades Park.
