Massive congrats to Margery Thomas-Mueller for this feature coverage on USA News. Her incredible, floral-themed exhibition lands in the height of spring and we couldn't be more proud to be hosting it now through the end of June.

Margery Thomas-Mueller was trained as an artist in Pittsburgh, New York and Perugia, Italy. Starting with years at the Art Student’s League, Carnegie-Mellon and the Accademia di Belle Arti.

Never abandoning fine art, she worked as an interior designer for over 40 years, designing major commercial and residential projects across the country.

Margery gave up her office and began her practice full time in 2011. Within this time she has had lauded solo shows, been accepted in national and international juried shows, and sold to prominent private clients.

Her present work, which is executed in her studio in Alton, New Hampshire is focused on abstracted landscapes. The medium that she has been engaged in for the past several years is watercolor on Yupo paper. These works are incredibly detailed and so we encourage clicking on each preview image below in order to access a set of detailed close-ups that better convey the level of accomplishment in these paintings that straddle the border between the abstruse and the allegorical under the auspice of nature.

Here are a dozen, cropped preview images.

14 years ago I helped to curate a career retrospective for Wayne Martin Belger at ArtSpace Shreveport. It ran from March through May, 2012. When I saw Shreveport trending on my feed this past week, I thought perhaps it was Meta's algorithm reviving a memory.

Instead it was news of an unspeakable tragedy that took the lives of 8 children whose full existence falls within the time that has elapsed since that show happened. Five girls and three boys, ranging in age from 3 to 11 years old, were killed. They were Jayla Elkins, aged 3, Shayla Elkins, 5, Kayla Pugh, 6, Layla Pugh, 7, Markaydon Pugh, 10, Braylon Snow, 5, Khedarrion Snow, 6, and Sariahh Snow, 11.

Such a small amount of time to be eight entire lifetimes, and yet so consequential to those that knew and loved them. This was the 7th mass killing this year in the USA as of April 27th, 2026.

Recently sold this original 20x29 in. Japanese B2 movie poster for THE INSATIABLE aka "Gendai poruno den senten sei inpu," From 1971, starring Reiko Ike, Miki Sugimoto, and Eurotica sensation, Sandra Julien. Directed by Norifumi Suzuki, this is a perfect example of Pinky Violence released by Toei Studios in the early 70s.

This one is gone, but we've got a lot of other Japanese movie posters, including a bunch with Meiko Kaji in museum condition. Link to site in our bio and search for "Pinky Violence".

These two fabulous examples of Baluch (War Rugs) just shipped to their forever home. These pieces were included in an exhibition of textiles that we originally presented back in 2018, now residing on our website as "The Art of War."

Being an innovator means being ahead of the curve, and that's a reality we've had to accept since our very first exhibition. Sometimes it takes a while for the audience to build around an artform —and we're never salty about how long it can take for the right artwork to click with the right patron. Sometimes taste lacks budget, and sometimes budget lacks taste, but nothing makes us happier than being custodians to art that brings joy to the buyer.

These two rugs will be joining an exceptional collection that we are proud to have sold into —one that rivals the best institutional collections of Afghan War Rugs.

Note the solid "bridge" on the top-left in the 2005 piece in the second tile. This is a rare motif for this era of the craft. You can check out some gorgeous still available pieces at gallery30south.com (link in bio).

WARREN CHANG: SPORTS!

Warren cut his commercial art teeth at Atari in the late 70s and early 80s producing the cartridge art for some of the most iconic games of the 2600 era before pivoting to a prolific period at the end of the 80s into the early 1990s painting iconography for the NBA, the NFL and their most high profile licensors in athletic apparel and fast food.

Oh man. I just discovered that Tony Fitzpatrick passed away today. He was an artist, an actor, a community organizer, a legend. He paid me one of the greatest compliments I've ever recieved, when he turned to Billy Shire, pointed to me and said, "There's no bu****it in him."

Tony was a massive fixture on the Chicago art scene and his Firecat Projects gave a leg-up to dozens of exceptional midwestern artists. His collage pieces blended illustration into them and he helped elevate the form (like Lou Beach had done just ahead of him) for the 21st century. He was a great mentor to many without needing to be a guru. He was always the most interesting person in the room but you could still trust him around your girlfriend.

Tony FitzP was a class act without holding back his opinion —and he had opinions! As often happens leading up to bad news like this, Tony had been on mind a lot lately. It would have been nice to talk to him one last time. Maybe in Mag Mell...
